Berry Smoothie—Three Ways


Prepare yourself for three different kinds of delicious. These recipes build on each other, and all three are amazing. The basic lemon-berry smoothie has a tartness that will wake you up and hit the spot. The rosemary smoothie has surprisingly interesting depth and a sophisticated flavor; don't be intimidated by the unorthodox use of herbs– you'll love it. The hidden vitamin variation is just what it sound like. You can have the great taste of either of the other two while sneaking in an extra serving of vegetables and other nutrients. You won't even know they're in there. So try one, or try all three.


Basic Lemon Berry Smoothie:

Blend together:


  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries

  • 1/2 lemon (zest and juice)

  • milk (any kind)

Lemon Rosemary Smoothie:

Blend together:

  • Everything from Lemon-Berry smoothie

  • About 5 rosemary leaves

Super Berry Smoothie:

Blend together:

  • Everything from either the lemon Berry Smoothie or Lemon Rosemary Smoothie

  • Small handful pumpkin seeds

  • 1 tsp chia seeds

  • Handful spinach

  • 1 tsp ground flax
