Thoughts on Gut Bacteria



I love listening to TED Talks or other informational videos while I exercise. I feel like I'm making both my body and my brain stronger at the same time and maximizing my productivity. I recently came across this one and wanted to give it a huge "AMEN"! There are (and have been for a long time) a lot of people trying to market different new health discoveries. There will always be something new to fight against, but they will probably never come out with something saying that food in it's purest form is bad for you. Stick with the unprocessed fruits, vegetables and grains and you'll (probably) never go wrong (as long as you're getting enough). And, like this video says, there's still a lot we don't know about the specifics of gut health. But rather than going with every new trend, listen to your body, and it'll tell you pretty well what makes your gut bacteria happy. When you're really able to identify the immediate cause and effect of what you put into your body, it's a lot easier to make eating—and avoiding—certain foods a way of life rather than a clench-your-teeth diet.
