Summer BBQ Hamburgers

Summer is in full swing and with Fourth of July already past, you've probably had at least one barbecue. So for your next (or first) one, I've got you covered in the burger department. These burgers are definitely not low fat or vegetarian, but a little indulgence every once in a while is fine. Plus they're homemade, so you know there are no weird add-ins or preservatives. This makes about 12-14 burgers (depending on the size), so you can either feed a large group or freeze some for another day (just make sure you put parchment paper between them so they don't stick together).


Hamburgers

1.5 lbs ground beef

1.5 lbs ground pork

2 T parsley

2 eggs

1 cup bread crumbs

Salt

Pepper

2 cloves garlic

  1. Finely chop parsley and garlic (you can also just grate or crush the garlic straight into the mixture once everything else is added)

  2. Throw everything in a large bowl

  3. Use your hands to mix all the ingredients together

  4. Form the mixture into balls somewhere between the size of a tennis ball and a baseball until all the mixture is used up

  5. Using your hands, smash the balls flat, keeping in mind that they will shrink in diameter and fatten as they cook
